Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

When you create an account and use Semina, we collect:

  • Email address — for account login, billing, and service notifications
  • Username — your chosen display name
  • Password hash — we never store your password in plain text
  • IP address — logged at login for security purposes
  • Payment information — processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details on our servers.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

We do not monitor, log, or inspect what you do with your seedbox. Specifically, we do not collect:

  • Torrent activity or tracker data
  • File contents stored on your seedbox
  • Download or upload history
  • Browsing activity within your seedbox interface

Your seedbox is your private space. We treat it that way.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Process billing and payments
  • Deliver and maintain the service
  • Provide customer support
  • Send service-related notifications (e.g. maintenance, billing issues)

We do not use your data for advertising or marketing profiling.

4. Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies:

  • Session cookie — to keep you logged in
  • Theme preference — to remember your light/dark mode choice

We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party advertising cookies.

5. Third Parties

We use Stripe to process payments. When you subscribe, your payment details are handled directly by Stripe under their own privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. After you terminate your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised billing records may be retained longer for legal and accounting purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — update or correct your personal information at any time via your account settings
  • Erasure — request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Portability — request an export of your data in a machine-readable format

8. Security

We take security seriously. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. All connections to Semina use HTTPS. Database connections are encrypted. We follow industry best practices to protect your data, though no system is 100% secure.

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you via email. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
